Uğur Şeker

Uğur Şeker was born in 1977 in Istanbul. He graduated first in his class from Mimar Sinan University Faculty of Architecture in 1999, specializing in Urban Planning. Concurrent with his studies, he served as Assistant to the Public Relations Manager at Interstar and Kral TV. He also worked as a production assistant and assistant director at NTV. Although he began Urban Planning at Mimar Sinan University and an MBA at Kadir Has University, he did not complete either program.
In 2000, he co-founded Zap Medya and became a partner. In 2007, he facilitated the sale of Zap Medya, which was Turkey's first internet agency with local capital, and left the company in 2010.
To date, he has managed approximately 4,500 internet campaigns. He has served as a jury member in various competitions and events such as IPZ GIA, Altınörümcek, DPİD, Kristal Elma, TÜHİD, Bumerang, Felis, and Meribel. His writings on the interactive world have been published in numerous newspapers and magazines. He was the creator and coordinator of Mynet Webschool and Webstar Turkey 1.
For about three years, he wrote football and Fenerbahçe commentary for various sports websites. He also hosted a sports program called "Merkez" on Radyospor for one year. Under the banner of Sugarwokz, he contributed as a co-producer or producer to several films and documentaries, including "Aşk Tutulması," "Aşk Geliyorum Demez," "Çakallarla Dans," and "2 Süper Film Birden."
Currently, he manages his second venture, DBI – Dijital Büro İstanbul.
He was the first Chair of the Divan of the IAB Turkey Platform and served as a member of the Board of Directors for four terms. He is a founding member of Galata Business Angels (GBA), Turkey's first angel investment platform, and serves on its Board of Directors. Since 2010, he has been acting as a Digital Consultant for İşbank.
